Position: Office Manager & Licensed Optician

Certifications: Licensed Dispensing Optician, American Board of Opticianry Certified, National Contact Lens Examiners Certified, University of Houston, School of Optometry Certified Office Manager.

Start Year: January 2004

Primary Position: I am the office manager of this wonderful eye care facility and also fit and dispense eyeglasses, along with specialty contact lens consultations.

Education/Experience: I have over 30 years’ experience in this exciting field, including working at the offices of Eye Associates of South Georgia and National Vision Associates. I’ve been with Northland Eye Care since we opened in 2004.

Skills You Have Which Help Patients: I understand deeply the selection of lens and frame options, such as paying attention to detail and personal style, providing the perfect fit for each patient with confidence.

What Do You Enjoy Outside Work: I enjoy raising puppies for Guide Dogs for The Blind, which I’ve done for many years. I relish reading and spending time with my loved ones.

Certifications: ABO under construction, Ashtanga Yoga Certified, & Jazzercise licensed

Start Year: January 2019

Primary Position: My primary focus is assisting patients with their eyeglasses so that their optical preference best suits their work and recreational environment. Educating others about their eye care needs is a crucial part of process, as well as, fitting them to perfection for optical clarity and paying attention to detail.

Education/Experience: Although I have two BA’s in the Liberal Arts, I have an undeniable thirst for knowledge in many fields of study. I am lucky enough to be a part of this fine business with people like Heidi and Dr. Thomas to help expand my knowledge in the world of optics, and I am grateful for their expertise.

Skills You Have Which Help Patients: My friendliness and empathy have taken me a long way in life, but here at Northland Eye Care, I have grounded myself in compassion above all else; this is because everyone is unique in their optical pitfalls and there are so many eye-related issues that can occur to anyone. This ever-growing field of optics reminds me that people are my passion, and everyone deserves adequate eye care.

What Do You Enjoy Outside Work: I love the outdoors! I enjoy hiking and backpacking the most. Other hobbies include star gazing, tennis, yoga, snowboarding, and disc golf.
